It's never to early to save the date!

Free 2 week trial
You are engaged, congratulations!

You want to make sure your friends and family can make it even
though its not for another year? Save the Date notifications are a well established practice if your wedding is still too early to send invites out, or if you have not confirmed all the wedding details.

Wedding invites usally go out 3 months prior to the big day, so Save the Date should be at least 8 months before the Wedding.

Save the Date email is a cheap and easy and quick way to let all your guests know to keep your special day free.  It gives people time to book their trip if you're getting married outside NZ or if the guest lives overseas and is coming home to share your day.  Also use them if you are marrying over a Public Holiday or school holidays as people like to go away at these time and demand on hotels and transport is a lot higher and more expensive.

It is not essential that you have your theme sorted by the time Save the Date email cards need to be sent.  We give you the option to choose one theme for the Save the Date and you can change it when you get to the main invite. However if you are happy with the theme, when you upgrade all your details will be kept, includingthe guest list, making the invite process a whole lot easier.

So what do you write for Save the Date? We have kept this option very simple and it gives you a lot more freedom to write what you want.  Its it not very formal and does not have to be very long.  Make sure you state that the invitation will follow.   You could also put a quote in.  I will write a post of good ideas for that very soon too!
